Self Test
Do you truly know, Jesus? If you’re unsure, here is probably the greatest test one can give themselves to know for certain. Do you love others? It is easy to love those who are kind to us, those that love us, those that do good things for us. But what about the people who are mean to you, speak evil of you, abuse you, or do some other manner of wrong doing against you?Luke 27:33-35 says, “And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.”
We all know how easy it is to show love to those who are good to us. We all know how difficult it is to love those who treat us badly and unloving. It is a natural response for humans to respond in anger and hate to those who are angry and those who hate us. It takes a supernatural love in your heart that you can only get from God to love those who spit on your face or spread lies and hate around about you. Only those who truly know Jesus can love those who hate us and hurt us. Do you hold hard feelings towards anyone in this life that you refuse to forgive? This is one way in which you can measure whether or not you truly know Jesus. Many know of Jesus, but few truly know him. Give yourself this self-test to discover the truth about your own life.
